I'm at a loss for this one. The probe will deploy mid print and hit the print.

Anyone seen this before. Seems to happen at layer change.

Can you post the gcode file where this happens?

Config's and sample code attached. It's just 3 layers of the gcode but it does happen here.

Are your bltouch wires running along stepper wires? If so can you try separating them and trying the print again? There doesn't appear to be anything in the gcode file that would cause the probe to deploy so I'm speculating interference.

I downgraded the firmware to the latest 1.21 and all my problems have either been solved or massively improved.

Interesting. Which firmware version were you using?

Would you mind posting a picture of your BLTouch? I'm wondering what version it is in case there is some incompatibility with older versions of the probe and newer versions of the firmware.

Could you also detail how you have the probe wired?

I can't get a good picture of it, but it's the latest version of the BL touch ordered about 2 months ago: https://www.antclabs.com/bltouch

I am running 3.3v logic on it.

                  I was using 2.00, and 2.01

Reverting to 1.21 resolved my issues.

Can you verify that the trace is cut with a multimeter?

I don't have one that works presently. but it's been verified with a jewelers lens. It's very clearly cut unless it goes deep into the PCB

In practice it doesn't matter whether the trace is cut or not, because the Duet normally tolerates receiving 5V into the STP pin of an endstop input. However, it is only on the 1.04 boards that we can guarantee that 5V won't damage the board.
