      Hi,

I was reading about the A and S parameters of M558.

Is there any combination of settings that can force averaging of a specified number of probes?

      Thanks.

      Frederick

I think your best bet would be to run a large number of G30 S-1 probes to get a good average value for your G31 trigger height, then set M558 A to something high like 10, and set M558 S to something very strict like 0.001. I think that would probably force it to probe the max of 10 times and then take the average.

Now as for whether that will get you better results... I doubt it. Does your probe have very low repeatability?

Sometimes it is spot on, other times it will vary by 0.01 mm between readings, occasionally it will vary by +/- 0.01 mm.
