Driving CoreXY as cartesian?
-
This is a stupid question but I will ask anyway
My understanding that in CoreXY, the directions of the motors are the diagonals Y=X, Y=-X, respectively.
If we will print rectangular objects using the natural axises of CoreXY (that is, rotated by 45 degrees), can this potentially give better results since the each of the main directions of the object requires a smooth movement of a single motor?

Yes but for a line along x, the max speed of your hotend will be √2 * max motor speed...

But usually infill is done at 45 degrees. So if a rectangular object is rotated 45 degrees on the build plate, then one motor will be utilised for the perimeters but both motors will contribute to the infill. It's a "swings and roundabouts thing".
@zapta Doubt it - try it and see (but bear in mind my comment about infill above).
