New Router connection
-
Hi,
Recently I had my internet router swapped for a new one. I've been trying to connect my Duet via wifi but I have a problem. The mini USB is not working ( the right light next to it is off). I can't connect via usb. When commanding 552 I get to the idle message which is when I'm supposed to do the M587 S"LIB-4429968" P"sk6XxvpgS7gm" so the duet communicates via WIFI.
I'm trying to do the 587 command via the Console tab but I can't see where I can use the " or change upper/lower case.

I assume you're using a PanelDue?
One way to easily add the wireless network would be to put the SD card into your PC and create a macro called addnetwork. Then put the commands to add the network in there. Then run that macro from the PanelDue. Saves having to type out special characters, etc on the screen keyboard.

As @Phaedrux says.
Older PanelDue firmware doesn't allow you to enter lowercase characters, but the last few versions have a shift key at the bottom left of the keyboard. If yours doesn't have that, you can update the firmware.

Thanks for the response, but not having USB connection or Wifi, how can I upload the new firmware?

@phaedrux thanks! Sounds simple enough but I don't happen to be so literate in doing this. Anywhere I can go or a link I can follow to give it a try? Thanks again for the suggestion.

It's the PanelDue that needs new firmware to make the shift key available. You can update that through the PanelDue USB port.

PanelDue firmware here if you want to try updating it and using the onscreen keyboard: https://github.com/dc42/PanelDueFirmware
The method I mentioned above of putting the Duet SD card into the PC and adding the macro for the network doesn't require the PanelDue keyboard at all, the macro would show up on the PanelDue macro menu.
