    • RE: No step signal on duet Meastro E2 and E3

      Hi Veti,

Thank you for the link, I checked the comments there. I updated to RepRap firmware 3.2.2, but that didn't change anything. I also checked the enable pin, but it was fixed at 0V, instead of the 3.3V that was mentioned under your link. However I also ran M122 (see below) and that told me "Driver 5: position 0, assumed not present". So I guess drive 5 and 6 are not enabled unless a chip is detected through the uart? Do you maybe know if there any way to disable this and just have it output steps whether it detected a motor driver chip or not?

    • No step signal on duet Meastro E2 and E3

      Hi,

I have a CR20-pro with a duet maestro to which I want add an LDM extruder using a mechaduino closed loop stepper motor. For this I want to use the step/dir signal of E2. However I do not see any step signals on my scope when I rotate the extruder. The dir signal is working and when I switch my config to use drive 4 I am also able to turn a stepper motor. But for some reason I'm just not seeing any step signal if I set it to use drive 5. I added my config file below, am I doing something wrong in there? Should I maybe do something with E2_EN or E2_UART?

      Best regards,

      Martijn

I'm in the Netherlands, I bought my duet from 123-3d.nl. But I already had an A4403 that started to smoke and I used my warranty to get a replacement board for that one. But in the meantime I ordered some new A4403 chips, so now I have soldered one of those new chips on the old one and now I can print again.

I checked the stock with the reseller where I bought the board; It is sold out.

I reworked the solder joints. I'm pretty sure they are connected properly now, but I still get the same error.

The fourth joint from the top looks a bit sketchy. Will try reworking that one tomorrow.

    • Duet Maestro cannot mount SD card

My Duet maestro suddenly stopped accepting my SD card. If I run M122 I get:

      Free file entries: 10
SD card 0 detected, interface speed: 15.0MBytes/sec
SD card longest read time 0.5ms, write time 0.0ms, max retries 0

      If I run M21 I get:

Error: M21: Cannot mount SD card 0: no FAT filesystem found on card (EXFAT is not supported)
[ERROR] Error: M21: Cannot mount SD card 0: no FAT filesystem found on card (EXFAT is not supported)

I have tried formatting two different SD cards, the 512MB one that was delivered with the board and a 8GB one that I had lying around. I formatted them both as FAT32/FAT16 using windows (not using quick format) and using the official SD card formatting tool. However I keep getting the same error...

Is my board broken or am I still doing something wrong?

    • RE: Help adding an additional extruder

The problem turned out to be that a maximum of 12 drives can be defined. The workaround is to define the multiplexed extruders as a single extruder, but in this way it is not possible to set individual extrusion multipliers. The issue is discussed in more detail on the Diabase forum. Is it true that it would be pretty difficult to change this in the duet's firmware?

    • Help adding an additional extruder

      Hi,

My university has a Diabase H-series machine hybrid machine. This machine is using a duet wifi together with a duex5 and two boards that mux the output of two of the extruders to control 5 extruders, 5 pre-extruders, 5 axis and two steppers to rotate and lock the rotating turret. With this configuration there is still one stepper free and I would like to use it to control an custom build extruder.

However I am stuck right at the first gcode I want to change. Currently the axis and extruders are defined like this:

      M584 X0 Y1 Z2 U3 V8 E6:6:6:6:6:9 A4; Set driver mapping, E drive is multiplexed.

When I try to add one more axis or extruder, so for example:

      M584 X0 Y1 Z2 U3 V8 E6:6:6:6:6:9:5 A4;Set driver mapping, E drive is multiplexed.

I get the following error (after enabling debugging and connecting via a serial terminal):

      "Executing config.g...Error: Gcodes: Attempt to read a GCode unsigned array that is too long: M584 X0 Y1 Z2 U3 V8 E6:6:6:6:6:9:5 A4"

I'm not sure if this is the slightly customized diabase firmware or that I just missed something in the documentation of the duet. Does anyone of you guys maybe know what I'm doing wrong?
