I tend to raise the X axis before loading the gcode to give me time to shut down if it goes rogue.

RE: X height and XY Datum issue
This is getting a bit weird now! You will see it threw up an error code, so I moved my work piece in by 100m away from the edge. I re-probed the xyz but this time it decided to cut back along the outer edge which it initially thought was out of limits?
I can't understand this as my previous jobs ran fine??

Forgot to mention, I'm using a Duet 2 wifi with RepRap version 2.03 - 2019-06-13b2

X height and XY Datum issue
Hi
I posted this on the Vectric forum but it was flagged up as a controller thing. If anyone can give some pointers I would appreciate it. !
I'm trying to cut some star shapes out of 8mm ply, my XY datum is set to top left hand corner or the opposite corner to home xyz. I've XYZ probed the corner but for some reason even though I've set the material depth to 8mm it's out by about 20mm too high. See screenshots and gcode at the bottom.
Also instead of starting the cut from the top left hand corner it moves across on the other side of the wood to the top right hand corner. So for instant I want the pattern to start around the top left(XYZ Datum probed corner) and it starts to cut to the opposite top right hand corner. I've drawn a red square where the cut actually starts.
Is this something anyone has come across?
I'm using an Cut2D pro, an Oooznest CNC with a Duet 2 controller
Cheers Phil

Stepcraft Oscillating Tangential Knife
Hi,
Has anyone used or experience of working with the Stepcrafts Oscillating Tangential Knife with the Duet2D?
Not sure how you connect it to the board.
I'm using an Ooznest 1500x1500 CNC.
Cheers

Is this a bug? Wifi crashes when adjusting Z axis offset
Hi
I've noticed I lose Wifi signal when I micro adjust the Z axis offset during a cutting program on my Duet 2. I'm in the test stage of my build and getting to know how the system and software works, so curious to know if it's a bug, caused by the data interrupt when asking for the micro adjustments while it's in a process, or just a wifi thing?
I can more or less get away with a single click of 0.5 mm either up or down, but when I try and add more the crash potential increases.
I'm using my mobile phone as a hotspot all within 3 metres of the machine and laptop, the connection is stable the rest of the time.
Cheers

RE: Estlcam controller hardware settings
Yes Christian confirmed, I did email him to see weather his developing a workaround but he's not got back to me yet.
I think Oozenest have a relationship with Vectric so probably tricky for them to recommend another platform.
As it seems a bit vague which software (outside of Fusion and Ventric) will work with Duet, I might buy an Arduino system for the short term and use that to make life easier while I'm starting out.

RE: Estlcam controller hardware settings
Sadly it seems Estlcam won't sing a Duet...poor joke sorry! Christian got back to me this morning with the unfortunate news.
So, are there any other recommendations for CAM software for beginners that won't break the bank?
(I'm avoiding Fusion as it's a bit too much to take on, and I'm working well with the CAD software DesignSpark Mechanical.)
Thanks
Phil

Hi Tony,
Thanks for moving over, I've attached a screengrab of the controller setting, is this what you mean?

Estlcam controller hardware settings
Hello,
I'm about to buy a Oozenest Workbee 1500x1500 which comes with the Duet controller. I aim to use Estlcam but just wanted to make sure they can both talk to each other.
In fact if anyone knows the controller hardware settings I need to put into Estlcam I would be very grateful.
Cheers
Phil
