    • motor phase A may be disconnected + hotend failures

      Hi all,

after a couple of months of break, I turned on my printer (caresian with Duet Wifi, f.w. 3.0) and I successfully printed for around one day without any issues. The day after (yesterday) I started having the following issues:

      • motor phase A may be disconnected on driver 2 (my Z axis)
      • random hotend failures

I unplugged the cable of my Z axis and checked, after a while I was able to print again. Then, another hotend failure. From that moment, I had a very strange behavior.
Driver 2 would fail (with the reported error message) making very bad squeaky sounds, then after a while of plugging/unplugging (of course with the duet turned off) I managed to home my printer, started a print and DANG: the extruder started giving the same issue of my Z axis: motor phase A may be disconnected on driver 4.

Should I just throw my Duet in the garbage?

      Thanks,
      Luca

    • RE: Notification via Pushover or other service

FYI, I am developing a telegram bot (in testing phase) to the purpose that can easily run on a RPI Zero. I will keep you posted as soon as the code is stable I will opensource it.

      I don't own a PanelDue. I don't know how to debug this.

Adding some bits. I also tried connecting through USB but the serial device is not recognized by my linux machine (before upgrading used to work).
EDIT: i have tried the fallback procedure #2 described at https://duet3d.com/wiki/Updating_main_firmware but it still doesn't work.

Just tried to upgrade from 1.19 to 1.20. I've uploaded DuetWifiFirmware.bin, but I cannot connect anymore to the printer via wireless. Any idea?

MQTT is really something that would open the door to many interesting applications. In principle, the integration of MQTT should be fairly easy since many MQTT implementations for ESP8266 are publicly available.

I have one of my Duets wired up to a CNC machine at the moment, though it requires a lot of messing about to from Fusion 360 to actually milling something with the Duet. I can help test stuff out though.

My other suggestion would be support for MQTT, to allow the duet to signal other things with it's status, e.g. current temperature, finished printing etc. With this it would be possible to do stuff like turn off plugs, turn on lights or send text messages when a print had finished.

    • Z axis clicking and going only one direction

      Hi all,

yesterday, I turned on my printer (duetWifi board) and the Z axis stepper started clicking and apparently going only one direction (downwards). The printer was perfectly fine, the only thing I modified was a fan that I have attached (which is working fine). Anything else is working as expected. What should I look into to debug this issue?

      Thanks!
