    • Text input boxes

I often found myself trying to set exact values for Extrusion Factors and Speed Factor using the sliders and not being able to set it from the first try.
I would love to have a text box for both controls where I could input the value needed and just press enter.

      Thank you,
      Mircea

    • RE: Pressure Advance. Wow!!

      It works like a charm!

Even in direct drive systems. I have a Bondtech extruder with a E3D hotend. And also on the short path the filament has from the hobbed gears to the nozzle ( aprox. 7cm ) it compresses a bit, but enough to cause blobbing issues.
It requires very small values like 0.05, but it's a clear improvment for precise extrusion on start / end of lines, corners, infill, etc.
If you want to get rid of the blobbs by under extruding, then you will get gaps at the start of the line. Esspecially on short lines.
So the pressure advance is a must if you want flawless surfaces and dimensional accuracy.

But for it to work properly you MUST have the extruder calibrated spot on. A lot of over/under extrusion problems are originating in poorly calibrated extruders. And a lot of jammings from over retractions (retracting too much filament, too slow).

Thank you for the great work, David.
This is the best controller I ever worked with. High quality electronics and great software and support (and I'm an electronics designer myself by trade, so I've seen alot).

    • RE: Firmware 1.20 Release Candidate 1 available

      Hi David,

Here are some things I have noticed, and they could be features or bugs, you tell me 🙂

      • if you issue a M913 X10 Y10 to reduce XY currents to 10 percent, the new current setting sets in only after a move on one of the axis
      • if you speciffy in bed.g coordinates outside the table, it will execute ignoring the table dimensions set with M208

      Cheers,
      Sascha

Yes. Current object 22mm height, reported as 310mm. Layer height is correct though, 0.34mm.
      Got it!
My ending code does a G0 Z310 to lower the table (cube design printer). This is where the 310 value comes…
I have no idea how to work around this. Any suggestion (good as always)?

Regarding bad layer count in interface, my current print has 191 layeys, and the interface shows me that the total number of layers is 969…. It may be that is also counting Z lifts during retracts as layers?

I noticed that babystepping is also added to auto bed compensation values. It drowe me nuts, I thought that something is wrong with my frame :))

    • RE: New beta firmware 1.20beta8

The homing issue occurs an the G1 S1 X-400 F4000 command, so the G92 X should have nothing to do with it. I will go with your suggestion since is the better and safer way of doing this. Thank you.
But, I think I have an ideea what is happening.
Sometimes, a stall is detected when the motor accelerates and only the G1 X5 is executed (as far as movement is perceived by me).
I will test this further, and report back.

I have printed all day with beta8. Works fine, except for this random homing direction inversion.
No other issues detected so far by me.
