Hi all,
We're using Duet 3 6XD for our 3D printer and occasionally, in the middle of a print, it will restart and we will return to find the print head contacting the most recently printed layer with all heaters turned off. There will be no job loaded and no record of print starting in the active session. Unfortunately, we neglected to run M122 after one of these incidents, once I get that I will update this forum post. This is a problem that's developed over a year of use and has become more prevalent recently. These are the potential root causes I've identified:
SD card - I lightly tried to knock the SD card loose or out of contact with the push connector on the board and I couldn't get it to reset. SD card has however caused us subtle problems in the past
Soldered connections - We tried to tug and jerk the connections we suspected were poor and we couldn't recreate the problem
Power supply - the AC source has been ruled out as a problem, but its possible our power supplies lost power for a split second, unfortunately we can't confirm this with M122 until we have a repeat incident
Firmware - The possibility exists that we had an infinite loop or some timeout like that, but again we can't confirm until we can get a diagnostic M122
Thanks in advance for everyone's help, let me know if I can provide anything to clarify
