Hey, I just have a quick question. I just received my DuetWifi and Panneldue, but ordered the 7" touchscreen instead of the 4.3" by mistake. Is there something special about this touchscreen or can I swap it for an Adafruit or Raspberry Pi touchscreen? Would the wiring have to change at all? I have a Microcenter just down the road that stocks a lot of different types of touchscreens, so if I can just grab one from them instead of having to wait another week for shipping to start this project, that would be great. Thanks.

The screen would need to use the SSD1963 controller to be compatible with the PanelDue.

Yes any 4.3, 5 or 7 inch screen with the controller that Tim mentions and the correct resolution should work

Also it needs to have a resistive touch panel with XPT2046 or compatible controller, and the 2 x 20 connector with 2.54mm pitch.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys! I picked up a SainSmart 4.3" TFT touch screen this morning, can't wait to get it wired up and tested out 🙂

There are 7" touch screens that work with PanelDue, so it's worth looking to see if the one you bought is one of them.

The 7" screen connects and works great, it's just to big for the printer I'm building so I wanted a smaller screen. I am having a bit of trouble getting the smaller screen to work though, as when it's plugged in and I power on the board, only part of the menu options are displayed on this smaller screen as though the Duet still thinks this is a 7" screen. The letters also all appear backwards. I'm assuming I have to make a change in firmware somewhere to tell the Duet that this is a 4.3" screen, not a 7" screen and then everything will work great. Can you tell me how/where to do this? Thanks.
