duet maestro and duex5 exp. board compatible?

Hello all,

is it possible to connect a duex5 expansion board to an duet maestro board? If not - how can i connect 4 z-stepper motors on a duet maestro board?

I believe you can only connect another 2 motors to the maestro.

So I think the short answer is no, you can't connect the duex5 to it and no, you can't connect a further 4 motors to the maestro.

Yeah the Meastro does not have enough pins to control more than the adittional 2 steppers you get with the expansion (another bottleneck might be the MCU in general).
