          https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/3.0

          Duet3Firmware_MB6HC.bin

          and these for good measure

          Duet3_SDiap_MB6HC.bin
          DuetWebControl-SD-2.04.zip

put the files in the /sys folder if transfered using the sd card, if uploading to dwc it will put it in the right place when you upload and ask you to update.

if using YAT then you need to run M997 S0:2 after having placed the files on the sd card

(but I'm a little concerned what happens if the SD card glitches during the update. recovery should be possible with bossa but more hassle.)

Sounds fun! cant wait for this to happen, if so how far do you bet an average guy could throw the thing lets not take wind into consideration.

@Torppa what version of DWC are you using? If 1.22.6 I wonder if there’s an issue using the old version with RRF3 and Duet 3.

I'd put the files on the sd card, disconnect the network, put the sd card back before powering up the board again and issue the M997 command on the terminal.

should reduce the odds of anything going a miss, and if it does you can follow these instructions for recovery https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Getting_Started_With_Duet_3#Section_Updating_Duet_3_main_board_firmware

And its broken now, no lights no nothing. dont care anymore worst purchase so far trying to be civil so no anger, its hard... wasted basicly 260eur... POS is going to the land fill probably... well atleast my home insurance covers it so i dont haveto fight duet3d over it.

Sigh, I can understand the frustration; but unless the board was damaged the update shouldn't render it unrecoverable.

And the update would only have affected one LED, the two indicating 5v and 3.3v are hardwired to the power rails - if they don't work something other than an failed update occured.

If you find the will to keep at it; high resolution picture if the board would be helpfull in determining the cause.

Got it to ''work'' again how ever Z and Y axis are reversed, the weird part is that DWC has no trouble homing only when manuly G1 Y34 F3000 Its the Z axis that mooves. The is something weird going on.

I guess that implies it was never broken.

Maybe its time to sit down and do some reading.

                              @Torppa Post your config.g and home all.g.

Check you have connected the Y and Z motors to the correct driver as per your M584 command, the physical order of the drivers on the board isn’t necessarily what you expect; it’s
                              0 1 2
                              5 4 3

So driver 3 is behind driver 2, not behind driver 0.

See the wiring diagram here: https://d17kynu4zpq5hy.cloudfront.net/igi/duet3d/TF1FBCbopEsxvYAv.huge

@Torppa said in Duet 3 hc6 firmware '''issues'':

                                    M584 X0.1 Y0.0 Z0.2 E0.3 ; set drive mapping

So motor wires are connected like this?

                                    Y0 X1 Z2
                                     5 4 E3

I've just been playing around with the networking on a standalone Duet 3. This in my config.g works for me to set a static IP address:

                                    ; Network
M552 P192.168.0.28 S1 ; enable network and set IP address
                                    M553 P255.255.255.0 ; set netmask
                                    M554 P192.168.0.1 ; set gateway
                                    M586 P0 S1 ; enable HTTP
                                    M586 P1 S0 ; disable FTP
                                    M586 P2 S0 ; disable Telnet

I can connect to the DWC, edit the IP address and reset, and the IP address will move to the new IP address.

I can also connect when starting up without an SD card inserted. Start up, connect via USB with Serial terminal (in this case Pronterface, as I'm on a Mac):

                                    Connecting...
                                    Printer is now online.

I can ping all the addresses I set, even when running with no SD card. I did make sure to send the subnet mask and gateway before the static IP address and enabling the network, though. This is with firmware 3.01-RC4.

So I can't replicate the problem you are seeing.

@Torppa said in Duet 3 hc6 firmware '''issues'':

The fans are cooling the steppers, aiming to print mostly nylon ans ASA, duet has a fan 240v for cooling. dont knoiw if this is abit mad for my first 3d printter

With you motor currents set like this:
                                      M906 X2600 Y2600 Z2600 E1197
The Duet 3 should barely be getting warm, even without a fan. But then depends how close to other hot things it is, how confined the enclosure is, what the ambient temperature is. It's difficult to over-cool something!

The enclosure is 350x350x50mm duet sits on 8mm pcb stands. has 3 went meshes, cables are running in the perimeters of the enclosure and the cable passtru holes have silicone thinggys that i salvaged from an old pc case.
Now that i think of it i might use the old itx case as the enclosure.
the PSU is not in the same box as the duet.

@Torppa you can calibrate the CPU temperature offset with https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M912_Set_electronics_temperature_monitor_adjustment
