Are these really as good as they say they are?
What about when compared to E3d steppers?
Can the Duet2/drivers understand the position data and know what to do with it?

I can see these being very good for the Duet3 as they support CAN.

Fun, that 3 letter word with "u" in the middle.

I've asked whether they support CAN-FD and not just CAN. If they do, then with appropriate firmware they could be driven by Duet 3 over CAN,

Are there any real benefits of using smart steppers on a Duet Delta?

Just curious if it's worth going 1.8deg smart steppers with Polulu drivers over 0.9deg dumb ones on TMCs (noise, quality) wise?

IMHO, No. At least not through a step/dir interface. If or when they are controlled by Duet via a bus, then, maybe.

Thought as much. Those smart steppers via Step/Dir don't really make sense to me. Imho the print is kinda ruined anyways if the extruder and the other axes don't know about the error and correct accordingly..

Hey, did you receive any response concerning the question if the Ananas-Stepper does support CAN-FD?
I am very interested in using them for a large format printer build with the Duet3.

                Cheers Max

                  No, I didn't receive a response.

We now have a closed-loop driver under development.
