I noticed when looking through the configurator that the mechanical bed leveling isn't an option any more. Is there more documentation on this new mesh bed compensation? duetquestion.JPG

From everything I have seen this is the old documentation on it. What changed?

@bearer but it doesn't do the leadscrew leveling so why deprecate it?

Yes but the configurator is saying it is replaced with the new mesh bed leveling.

I'll defer to a higher power here, but I don't think that is what it is (meant to be?) saying.

Don't know why the mesh bed leveling should 'replace' mechanical leveling. AFAIK, it's allways been a case of getting the best mechanical leveling before running mesh bed compensation on top of the already adjusted bed.

The 5 point compensation had nothing to do with mechanical leveling. It was a limited form of mesh compensation based on a few defined points. It was replaced by the G29 mesh compensation because you can easily duplicate the old functionality by simply defining a sparse 3x3 point grid.
