is this just debris or a hole in the chip?
(its the prime suspect for your problem in general)

Oh... so the most likely problem is the chip?

that is the chip that make the 5v and in turn 3.3v so if it has a hole in it, yes.

I'd wait for the Duet people to drop in and ask a few questions around the circumstances and take it from there.

You can continue setting up the build and configuring providing 5v via usb, just beware of https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/USB_ground_loops

To save yourself some time, add when/where it was purchased as its one of the things the Duet people will ask anyways.

because of school and iterating the motion platform design I had not much time to work on the software side of things.

So @dc42, what can I do in this circumstance with the hardware?

Is it correct to say you've had the board for a year now but only recently installed it?

While we can't offer warranty replacement on this unit we can offer a possible refurbished unit on exchange. Please contact Roland on sales@Duet3d.com to inquire. Include a link to this thread.
