Question: Does the error persist when the motor is disconnected?
        Answer: Yes.

        Resistor cracked.JPG

        Please see above picture.

Please confirm you see the C38 and C36 resistors are cracked.

        Is this the issue?

good call highlighting that, I took it to be the same fibers as scattered around the board. they can crack due to thermal stesses, but think we'll leave the judgement to dc42 and/or t3p3tony

            Sorry, bad quality picture.

New picture does not show cracks:

You have read https://www.duet3d.com/warranty and the section about incorrect wiring?

To me it sounds like you should be singing your praises that having shorts in the wiring harness only damaged one driver instead of making demands; or at the very least pick another approach to elicit some goodwill.

bearer are you speaking for Duet 3D?

I work for Ford Motor Company, and I understand my rights as a customer.

Please stop speaking down to me.

Speaking to Duet 3D: Does bearer speak legally for Duet 3D? If not, please block bearer from posting on my official warranty claim.
I am seeking warranty advice from Duet 3D only.
                      Thanks,

@kdsands88 we have a lot of helpful users on this forum (especially @bearer ), please respect the friendly environment we are trying to engender here.

It looks like the initial miswiring has damaged Driver 0 so it still works, but reports the error. Normally that would not qualify as a warranty return, however in this case we will make an exception so we can get the board back and look at the damage.

Please upload your config.g file to this thread so we can see the current used etc.

Separately the way the board is mounted in your test setup concerns me. the brass nuts look large enough to overlap the edge of the keepout area around the mounting holes and could wear through the solder resist on the board over repeated fitting. Its not possible to see if you are using the supplied nylon washers to insulate the standoff and nuts from the board but i would recommend using a different mounting solution with female standoffs and small head M4 socket cap screws.
