I have a Duet 3 Board and a Raspberry 4. Can I still connect the Raspberry power supply to the Raspberry? Or does the Raspberry always have to be supplied with power via the duet board and the ribbon cable? Or may no power supply be connected to the Raspberry?

You can power the RPi from the Duet 3, the Duet 3 from the RPi, or power both independently. Just set the jumpers correctly!

        What is the best solution?
        With a Raspberry 4.
The Raspberry 4 needs a little more than older models.

Ok i see 3.5A to the SBC.
        That should be enough

I think I'll save the extra power supply for the raspberry for the first time.

bear in mind the current rating for the Pi is taking into account that it would in turn supply other USB devices, if you don't have any USB devices connected you need less current.

We've reduced the maximum 5V external output to 3.0A total on later boards.

Once when I had recently connected the PI via the Duet3, the message Undervoltage came from the Pi ...

Cables from Duet3 to Pi are very thick and directly connected to the GPIO of the Pi..

iirc the Pi will complain below 4.63±0.07V and dc42 said there should be margins for that https://forum.duet3d.com/post/147669

it'd be interesting to see how much drop there is in the ribbon cable for this setup when getting undervolt errors. I just disabled the warning and throttling as i don't care about the 5v voltage (used for usb, ethernet and maybe hdmi?)
