I just finished the hardware build for my BLV. I have to decide next to either put my Duet 2 wifi or Duet 3 in it. I need more stepper drivers than either board has. My Duet 3 is setup with the raspberry pi SBC. Am I able to add a daughter board to it with that setup ?

There are expansion boards for both.

On the Duet 3 the expansions use the CAN bus and can be used with the SBC as well.

I'm hopefully finishing my build next week but asked the same question some days ago 😉

I am almost finished with my 500x500 triple Z BLV MGN, and went with Duet3 and Toolboard... best decision in my opinion.
The triple Z Axis is easily accommodated and the toolboard greatly reduces the wiring having to run out to the hotend. Still room for plenty of upgrades with the flexibility of the IO ports being able to accommodate just about anything you would want to hook into it.

Well worth the extra cost, in my opinion.

Mine is 410x410 triple z. How did you do the z's ? I am doing standard 2 in the middle with one in the middle of the rear. I have decided on the duet 3

Thanks for the link. I am glad to be able to read all the opinions. I am doing a 3 stepper z so going to go with the Duet 3. Not sure if you bought a kit or not. I will link to the one I got.
