Panel Due 7" black screen after update
-
Hi,
I got bossa running on my mac after some homebrew work.
I downloaded this update https://github.com/Duet3D/PanelDueFirmware/releases/download/1.24/PanelDue-v2-7.0.bin
but noted my file was 2kb bigger than on GIT?Installed via BOSSA, verified file and the screen was on, but unresponsive to touch.
I then plugged it into my Duet v2 wifi, and screen was black.
Pressing reset button shows the backlight going off and back on. Still black screen though.
Now, either plugged into Mac or Duet, Im still getting a black screen.
Any tips would be great thanks.

@nedmo Do you have a PanelDue v2? They haven't been made in quite a while. Photo of what you're trying to flash?
-
Also if you have the 7i the file that says 5i-7i should be used or the colors will be off.
-
I bought it for this Vking build 2 years ago. It is a Aliexpress panel.

You can pull the PCB portion off the back of the LCD panel and post a photo of it.
-
Is this a better photo. I have tried finding out how to identify the different versions but couldnt get any clear answers
-
is there a jumper on the PanelDue board? Also if you post a picture of it, it might help identify the version.
-
Is there a version number on the PanelDue board (the green one)?
-
Sorry if I have no idea what information I need to provide. There is a number at the top of the green PCB 18400-823234

Based on the processor used I think you should use the v3 firmware.

@bearer Annnnnnd it works perfectly. Thanks to everyone for your help. I did think to try it, but I was just a bit scared of bricking it.

you can't brick the range of duet products that have atsam chips by programming them as the bootloader is in read only memory.
(ir sensor, smart effector and the filament sensors that uses attiny instead of atsam chips are exceptions, where you could in theory mess up programming fuses)
