PowerSpec/Flashforge Creator Pro converted to Duet
-
Hey all,
Figured everyone would like this but I took 30 some pictures along the way of my duet conversion. Tried to add comments to most of the pictures but let me know if anyone has any questions or comments. I'm sure there are things I likely didn't do 100% correct along the way but can't change that now -
Nice conversion! Would you care to share your config set for others to see in the future? Or perhaps even submit it to the github config repository if you're so inclined.

@MrM2U i am trying to do the same thing can i look at your config ?

@wifiguru10 Those configs are way out of date and for V2 not V3. It's been on my list to add to the github repo but other stuff keeps coming up. I'll try to pull them later today to post here.

It might be interesting to note that I'm still using that same printer with (mostly) the same configs. I do have a BLtouch attached to the side of the carriage these days, but everything else is still the same, and I never bothered updating the firmware beyond RRF 2.05.
In fact, that printer is probably one of my better ones. It's not as fast or big as my delta, but it's very reliable and makes excellent prints. I've considered (several times) replacing the extruders and hot ends with titan aero's, but I can't justify the work or expense when everything is still working.
I do have one question for @MrM2U : Where did you find the silicone socks for that size heater block? The cotton/kapton insulation on my blocks is in serious need to replacement, and a simple sock would be so much easier.

Apologize for the necro... Missed the reply/questions here.
@garyd9 Yeah you posted the RR2 configs awhile back but I had to make RR3 configs from the ground up because they weren't compatible. I ended up not using yours for that. I agree with your points of reliability. With everything I did, this printer just works, 100% of the time without issues.
For the sock, I used this: Amazon Silicone Sock. I put a very thin piece of kapton (1/8") wrapped around the top so it can't slip off.
I originally made something to hang the bltouch off the side which worked but it couldn't cover the whole build plate for autoleveling, hence why I switched to the 2nd extruder slot. For those that don't want to get rid of the 2nd extruder, options are definitely limited.

@garyd9 are you still using the old config from RRF 2? I am working on getting my FFCP updated with a Duet 3 mini and would be interested to see your updated configs if you made any. I think I found a copy of the google drive link with your configs? I am working though them now. Any updates or advice you can share would be very much appreciated.

@MrM2U can you share your RRF3 configs?
