Best way to run a single LED off the 1LC toolboard?
-
I am considering adding a single LED to my printhead running on a beta toolboard. What's the best way to do it? Ideally so that I can switch it with a gcode command or macro ... color control super optional (-:

Depends on the LED. If 12/24V from one of the heater Outputs. If its a "weak" LED from an IO Pin.
Then switching it on or off via M42.
Or/and Reading the state and switching via the daemon.g
Best

@PCR how weak is a weak LED? I only have IO0 free of the options you mention.

Like a 3.3v or 5v LED. For that you can use the IO Pins.
Or you can use a mosfet and Drive 24v/12v leds -
@PCR, if it's a single LED then you can connect it directly between io0.out and ground. There is a built in 470R current limiting resistor. If the LED is not bright enough then you can have the pin drive a small mosfet e.g. 2N7000 to drive the LED and a current limiting series resistor of about 100 ohms.

Awesome, I'll give that a try. IO0 is unused so that should work.
