Hello I cannot for the life of me get my part cooling fan to work

Part Cooling fan is plugged into fan 1 and heatsink fan is plugged into fan 2. I shorted the mosfet on the board for fan 0 so I shifted everything down. When I plug the part cooling fan into the always on pins, spins up no trouble.

The heat sink fan works just fine. Turns on at 45C as expected.

First can you send M115 and confirm you are using RRF 3.1.1?

          M106 P0 C"PartCoolingFan"

          You're missing some parameters. Try:

          M106 P0 C"PartCoolingFan" S0 H-1

That disables thermostatic mode and allows it to be controlled manually. Starting in the off position.

            Here is M115 response

            M115
            FIRMWARE_NAME: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet FIRMWARE_VERSION: 3.2-beta3.2 ELECTRONICS: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later FIRMWARE_DATE: 2020-11-12

I also updated the fan parameter to include M106 P0 C"PartCoolingFan" S0 H-1 and still no response when setting the fan selection to 100%

@jaurand said in Part Cooling Fan Reprap 3:

still no response when setting the fan selection to 100%

              Where are you setting this?

From the console try sending M106 P0 S1

How do the mosfets look? I wonder if the short that killed the other header has weakened the others and now it has failed as well.

@Phaedrux I thought they looked finealt text

How hard are they to replace? As long as I know what I'm looking at I can resolder new ones in. Or pivot to a heater pin to use for the fan

Sorry that photo is too blurry to make them out clearly. They are the little black chips with 3 legs beside the fan ports.

They are replaceable. They can also be tested to check if they are working or not.
