Having a bit of an issue. Running stand alone on 3.1.1. When I first connected it, it registered with my router with one MAC address. I did a reservation for it. Then I wasn’t able to connect. I find out that my router registered another MAC for it.

I then set that MAC address with M540. But it looks like it registered the original MAC address again.

Is there supposed to be a MAC address burned into the Ethernet on the Duet 3 6HC 0.6

I believe it should be generating its own MAC address.

I’ll pull out the M540 and see what MAC address it registers with.

So I shut down my Duet 3, pulled the address card and removed the M540 from config.g and manually set an ip address outside my dhcp scope but still in the proper range to communicate.

My router shows the MAC address as CE:32:E5:00:1D:4B

Panel Due when I send M540 shows the MAC address as BE:76:3B:3D:53:31

I think because I’m using a nano router to bridge the Duet 3 to wireless that it’s possible the nano router is doing some form of masking/wrapping the packets.

It’s working, though I also think the wireless connection isn’t strong.

              That could very well be.

mac addresses is a layer 2 thing, while ip addresses is a layer 3 thing - if your wireless bridge is operating on layer 2 layer 3 you will not see the actual duet 3 mac address. so given available information that is the most likely explanation.

easiest way to verify is a direct connection to the duet.
