Someone got his Duet machine running with Octoprint? I know...I know....that doesn't makes sense at all but since there is only a Octoprint plugin for Mosaic Palette I would like to use Octoprint for multicolor prints (mainly because of the "slow down during splices" feature).

If I connect my Duet3 via USB to Octoprint I can connect but as soon as I start a print weird things are happening. At first it takes a long time until the printer is doing anything. Latest at the point in time when my start GCODE macros for setting the Z offset (multiple G30 S-1) everything is running out of control 🙄

      Thx!

I have been running the Mosaic and Octoprint without issues
I did not use dwc and only used octoprint
it would be nice if we were able to go directly to dwc but this is not in the works for now

Do some searches in the forum. It's been a while since I've used my Palette but I did get it working and it was discussed in a thread.

I think if you're trying to use octoprint to run macros and do things you normally do with the DWC you're going to run into the issues you've seen.

From what I can remember from when I had it working I would basically get the machine ready to print (homed, heater), then connect the octoprint hub and initiate the print in connected mode. The file was sliced in canvas or cura.

Prints worked only if the speed was excruciatingly slow.

@Phaedrux That's exaactly what I'm currently trying. Executing my Start GCODE via DWC abd then start the Palette prit via Octoprint. Not really perfect but..... 😉

The neweer versiin of the Octoprint plugin have an configurable option to slow down the print speed during splices. I hope that prints above the recommeended speed of 50mm/s are possible.

I lost complete confidence in Mosaic. 50mm/s is arbitrary. It's the volumetric flow rate that matters. But I digress.

@Phaedrux Yes, my final way for the future is definitely a tool changer.

At least I got it to run. I'm doing the pre gcode via DWC and then start the main print via Octoprint. I had to block M503 in Octoprint otherwise it stucks in status "starting".

The "slow down during splices" plugin feature seems to work. I printed @100mm and during splices @50mm without any problems.

Good to hear. Maybe one of these days i'll dust it off and try again.
