Extrusion multiplier vs M211
-
Is it the same?
For example I have an extrusion multiplier of 0.94 in S3d. If I set this to 1 and do a M211 S94 will I get the same result?
Thanks, Martin

Basically. However keep in mind that the extrusion multiplier in the slicer will only affect the commanded amount of extrusion on print moves, which the extrusion factor set by M211 is a bit more complex. But for small amounts of a few percent for all intents and purposes they are the same.
I would consider best practice to be:
calibrate your esteps first, then using a live print test dial in your slicer extrusion multiplier (95% seems like the golden spot) and measure your filament diameter. Then fine tune with M211 during a print if needed. If you need more than 5% up or down, start over.

Very cool, thanks @Phaedrux!
The reason why I was asking is, that (due to the lack of an upgrade an missing features) I would like to switch over from S3D to Ideamaker and it doesn't has an multiplier.
Very strange. I know many people using Ideamaker with a quite equal printer. When I'm slicing with Ideamaker.... start Code is fine.....and then comes the skirt or (also tried) directly the print and it only produces huge filament blobs in every four corners and the extruder is driving crazy. Already in contact with Raise3D and until now they couldn't find the problem.
Anyway....thanks for your help. The feedback from you experienced guys is priceless!

Idea maker does have a multiplier it is in the filament settings
To access that setting go to top line menu
Printer
Filament settings
General tab
you will see flowrate in that setting -
@percar Yeah, already found it Unfortunately Raise3D still hasn't found the problem why Ideamaker is not working with my printer.
