      Hi guys,
now that I've an enclosure around my printer, I'm keen to test a setup for ABS as main material and PLA as support material.
I only have a Titan direct drive now and I guess, it's best to add a remote extruder for PLA, otherwise it would get soft in the 50+°C heated chamber.

Will the Bowden tube keep it cool enough?

What else do I have to look for to make PLA stick on a 110°C bed?
What's your experience with this material combo?

no necessarily. look at the bmg. you can have a bowden tube feed the direct extruder resulting in the same setup regarding Bowden tube.

i have no experience on this, but i since ptfe tube is used in heatbreaks for this purpose , i would venture that it will be ok.

The tG for PLA is between 50 and 80 deg C so 50 deg C ought not to be problem. The Bowden tube won't make much difference IMO - it works as a liner in hot ends, not so much because of its insulating properties but more because of its low friction surface (so when the PLA swells, it doesn't jam).

Why use PLA as a support? Why not use something design for the job (breakaway or soluble) ?

I'd be tempted to use two orbiters
AFAIK, the SLA version 1 is avalable in a mirrored housing.
But I'm afraid that the later versions made by injection molding, won't be availabe in mirrored. At least I haven't seen them yet (V1.5)

Why use PLA as a support?

Because lately I asked abut the chance to mix parts from PLA and ABS. Someone said, they won't bond and actually the materials are often used as part/support combo.
I wanted to give it a try...

Not so sure about ABS anymore. My capacitive probe doesn't like either the chamber temp or bed temp, I'd need for ABS.
So I'd have to home cold which I don't like...
Are their other probetyps less temp-sensitive?
I also have dc42's differential IR probe or inductive probes (which I replaced with capacitive for a reason I forgot)
