that may be one for @dc42

Tried again,
Fine until it reaches Phase 3 with Fan on,
Fan is working at 100% but temp does not cycle -
Photo of your hotend? It may be expecting to see a drop from the fan, but it's not happening.

Does it matter what idle temp the hotend is before you start this?
It should be from ambient.
-
-
My Cooling is excessive when turned onto full, that's why I'm doing to Autotune as I had a 15 degree drop and It faulted during my last print
-
Are you controlling the fan yourself during the tune with M303 T0?
You should leave the fan off and the firmware will turn it on when needed.
-
I not manually controlling it. it was set to off and nozzle temp was ambient last time I tried (running now.. 1.5hrs in so far)
-
You're tuning to 220 and it's steady at 218. Try tuning to 215.
-
ok will attempt
-
is there way to limit power to fan so 100% is just actually 50% power?

When you configure the fan in config.g using m106, use the "X" parameter. For example, M0.5 will tell RRF that when the fan is set to 100% via "M106 S1" (or M106 S255), it actually only runs at 50%.

When I ran M303 T0 S215
I finally got this resultWarning: heater behaviour was not consistent during tuning
Auto tuning heater 1 completed after 3 idle and 30 tuning cycles in 4475 seconds. This heater needs the following M307 command:
M307 H1 R1.621 C180.9:140.4 D7.18 S1.00 V24.1
Edit the M307 H1 command in config.g to match this. Omit the V parameter if the heater is not powered from VIN. -
How does the heater perform with those values?
-
Still couldnt maintain temps with the cooler setup I have. so I'm changing my cooler to be less aggressive and will retune
-
I can't tell from your pic, are you using a silicone sock?
-
not presently, it was damaged and i havent replaced it
