config.g file?

Apologies, it does home but is picky when it is doing so, hence my thought about broken cable.

I did a full power off, waited 20 secs, powered back on again.
Re-watching my video, it doubled tapped X endstop but with Y did a 'ghost' tap then looks like it went to home Z, without performing the 2nd home.
Further thinking, Going to disconnect Y endstop, put a voltmeter on it and see if the cable has a break in it, by gently moving the Gantry as if X had been homed.
Pity RRF/DWC can not have a diagnose feature that basically you set to 'on' and it logs everytime an endstop is triggered with a time.
2/3/2021 - 14:40:37 - X endstop triggered 2/3/2021 - 14:40:40 - X endstop triggered 2/3/2021 - 14:40:48 - Y endstop triggered ......
If I cannot find anything, I will go back to 3.2 and 3.1 firmware if I need to.

Can we see your homing files?
-
@PaulHew I have three printers running 3.2.2 and they all home without any problems.
So I don't think that is the cause. -

Can you walk me through what I'm actually seeing in the video? It's not obvious to me what is wrong.
-
@Phaedrux Hope this finds you well.
- the printer is not homed
- I press home all button
- it homes X - endstop in top left corner by linear rail.
- 9 secs into video, It starts to home Y, stops then looks like it is going to home Z but I abort it, horrible noises will happen!
if you look at the toolhead, there is a green endstop holder, that is for Y. Just above the Magenta fan duct. (NO IT IS NOT PINK! LOL)
It does not even reach its proper homing point.
If you look at X, it fast homes, then homes a second time more slowly.
Y does not bother. for some reason it think it has homed.Hope that helps.
Regards,
Paul.

Does Y appears as homed at that point? or does it think it's still unhommed?
What kind of an endstop switch is it?
-
@Phaedrux It is a Omron microswitch.
Update
Have not used the printer in a day or so.Upgraded the PanelDue firmware. All good.
Homed from the Panel. fine.
Heated bed and left for 20 mins.Homed, trammed, homed and trammed twice more.
Kicked of a print, test squares. Stopped it.
Cleaned bed.
homed all, Y homing is messing around again. E-Stop.Home X - ok, home y - did not make it to the endstop, e-stop
homed axis manually again - all good.Homed all Missed Y again, estop and it never recovered from that.
SD card is blank, but I have recovered most of my files using recovery software I have.
Just waiting for new cards - tomorrow.
Could the SD card being flaky cause my Homing issues?

@PaulHew said in Will not reliably home on Y - Broken cable?:
Could the SD card being flaky cause my Homing issues?
I suppose it's possible. Corruption of the homey.g files.
Could also just be a consequence of estopping so many times while the sd card was being access (reading the homing files?)
Pure speculation on my part.
Try a new card and try running a new wire for Y.
