I am trying to find a Duet3 Mini and a toolhead board as I want to upgrade my RailCore. Currently have a Duet2 Eth and Duex5. Everything is 24v, lights run off the Duex as it is able to step the power down to 12v.

I am sure I read this correctly but it seems I cannot use my current 24v part and hotend fans?
Instead I have to use 12v fans?

There is 24V presented to the toolhead board so why did Duet drop the fan outputs to 12v?

Not a dig, just a general question or can I use my current fans?

      Lots of questions, apologies!

      Paul.

@PaulHew said in Toolhead Board questions:

Mainly because 12v fans are far more common and come in a wider variety of options.

I believe you can still use your 24v fans but you'd have to connect only the negative side to the fan connector (duet switches on the negative side) and supply the 24v positive side from an alternate source than the fan header.

As @Phaedrux says, there are more options in 12V fans, especially if you want to use fans with tacho output and/or separate PWM control. However, there are two ways of using 24V fans with the existing tool board when VIN is 24V.

The next revision of the tool board will have a VIN/12V jumper that selects the voltage provided to OUT1 and OUT2.

            @Phaedrux @dc42

            Thanks for the guidance.

Is there a release date for the new toolboard?

Struggling to get hold of a Duet3 Mini and a toolhead board in the UK.

Checking the websites, Duet3d, Ooznest and e3d, no one has anything to buy.
            (Hoping Tony can assist)

            Regards,

            Paul

Duet 3 Mini boards are now in bulk production and should be available from our resellers very soon. I hope to have an update on tool board availability on Monday,
