Disable internal driver on duex 5

I have a question if I disable the Internal driver on duex 5 driver number 7&8 are available what would be the voltage?. will it be 3.3V or 5V to drive external and what will be the number for the new drivers.

@moe-adams9093, how may external drivers do you need to add? If it's just two then it's easier to use CONN_LCD instead. The signal levels are 3.3V.

@dc42 it’s only 2 driver they are already hooked up on conn lcd Esteps calibrated 100 present but they are rough when printing I believe it’s because conn lcd provide only 3.3 v and the encoder require 5V minimum. According to the documentation of the motors the T perimeter should be at 5us that’s at 200khz. I was thinking about installing a shift register high speed but also I’m Worried about losing some signals from the input. So any technical suggestions or advice? Motors are NEMA 23 driver and encoder built in. Thank you

@moe-adams9093, I suggest you use a 74LVC06 chip to convert the 3.3V signals to 5V for the external drivers.

Thank you for your suggestions I couldn’t find 74LVC06 in stock
I found 74LVC06A-Q100
Hex inverter with open-drain outputs do you think this chip should work fine.
Thanks for your suggestions do you think using internal driver will be a lot better then using external as far positioning and accuracy speed etc or it will perform as the same. Because I have few more printer and they all use duet board and I don’t have this issue rough printing surface and lots of vibration when it’s moving. Thanks -

Yes, the -Q100 is the more expensive automotive qualified version of the same chip.
