Duet 3 6hc and expansion 3hc 12v io-7-9 and 6-8 no redout
-
Hi,
-
I am a little confused on these from reading the documentation these are 2.5 low amps however the not at bottom says 800mA max. Is the 2.5 amps for the fused at 24V?
-
output 3 - 5 on expansion and 4-6 on main board the vout and gnd reads 12 volts, the jumpers are set to the 12 volt by default, however the 2pin out 6-8 and 7-9 do not produce 12volts barely getting 100mV but it goes up and down 50mV to 200mV I tried switching the jumper on the expansion board to the fused side but did not get a 24V readout
The 4 pin kk headers out 4-6 and out 3-5 give me 12 volts I have a fan and a pump these run at 12V I connect these on the 4 pin only use 2 pins the neg. and vout. The fan an pump work, however there may be a connection issue on on the pumps wiring as I have to disconnect and reconnect the wiring not on the board but on the extension connector. could this be because the pump is rated at 823mA?
Any ideas ?
Thx, -

Yes I believe so, because when using 12v you're going through the regulator rather than direct from the 24v supply.
12V
The Duet 3 produces 12V onboard from VIN. 12V will not be produced if only 12V is provided as VIN. 12V is provided to the low current (800ma) fan voltage selection pins, and can be assigned to two banks of pins, OUT 4-6 and/or OUT 7-9.@jsinicro said in Duet 3 6hc and expansion 3hc 12v io-7-9 and 6-8 no redout:

Have you checked the fuse?
What kind of a pump is it?

@phaedrux Pump and Fan are from the e3d Aqua cooling kit each on is on a separate expansion board and they are connected to the 4pin out 3 and 4 they only use the positive and negative pins. They work, but when testing the 2 pin connectors out 6,7,8 I do not get the 12Volt that I thought I would. The main board is powered from a 24 volt supply which the 2 expansion boards also use.

@jsinicro still can't figure out why I am getting 12 volts out of the 4 pin header out 3 and 4 where the fan and pump are connected but on the 2 pin header out 6-8 not getting 12V? the picture above show the connections this is the expansion 3hc.
-
@jsinicro this is consistent the same results on the main board
-
@jsinicro Just wanted to point out the wiring diagram for the 3HC is labeled wrong taking there is no 2-pin out 7- out-9. it has to be according to the wiring picture out out-6,7,8
from the documentation:
Medium current/ 2 wire fan outputs
2-pin KK headers labelled OUT7 thru OUT9: these are intended for fans. Maximum recommended current 2.5A each. Flyback diodes are built-in to these outputs. (see note on 12V max current below) -
@jsinicro new question?
the 2-pin KK headers, well there is only one on the 3HC this puts out v-fused which is 24 volts verified that, but what are the maximum amps? -
@jsinicro that's all the documentation says:
2-pin KK headers labelled GND and V+: This is for powering an always-on fan or similar. The documentation for the pumps say 823mA I have 2 but they are rated at 12V the set up that I have when I turn on power I have to unplug and plug one of them back in in order to have them working, which is not right as they are on 2 separate 3HC boards.
-
@jsinicro I will use the 24V and step it down to 12V
-
@jsinicro I suppose I could use the JST high amps step that down and connect both
