Simple filament Run out sensor random error
-
Hello Friends, I'm using Duet 3 board with 3.2 version firmware with expansion board 3HC with two simple trip filament run out sensors. I keep getting random pause when there is nothing wrong. Has anyone else had this? It may run 3 day or 5 days down to 1 day or even pause in 15 min. after a restart then run another 3 days before the error comes back. Most of my prints run 10 to 15 days at a time.
I have changed the switch and wires and it's still doing it.
Not sure what to check now.
Thank you

Are you using normally-open or normally-closed switches?
Are you running them active-high or active-low?
Do you have a pull-up enabled?
Which inputs are you using?
Are the limit switches running bundled together with stepper motor wires?
(OK, please post your config.g and that'll answer some of these in one pass.)It should be quick to figure out why you are having intermittent trips of the filament sensor.

I run into this issue on occasion and actually have this happening right now but have not gotten around to fixing it. My sensor is a simple micro switch with a long lever and the filament, when present in it's housing, moves the lever enough to activate the switch. There is a fine line between the lever being too far one way to allow me to thread in new filament and too far the other way to cause the switch to turn off even though there is filament.
In my case it's always been an issue of just bending that arm a tad (outward in my case) to fix the intermittent issue.
