Extruder slows to a crawl
-
@htrabbit said in Extruder slows to a crawl:
All x/y/z/ movements are fine and at normal speed, but fore some reason the extruder will slow down to barely visible movement.
Is this during a print? or when?
Can you show a video of the behaviour?
If it's during a print can you share the gcode file? -
@phaedrux
this happens during print initially, and then remains in this error state till power cyclefile is too big to upload(5mb) tried to zip and rar it still wont upload(server error
) -
You can rename the zip file as .txt and upload it.
-
@phaedrux
rename to .zip
single_joycon_grip.txt -
it has happened to other files as well, this one was failing after layer 30ish and i stopped print at layer 47,
while it was in error state i tested a new stepper , and a new cable, neither fixed the issue.
the steppper was activated,(could not manually turn the stepper by hand. ) it was turning just super slow, could barely detect movement.
power cycled duet and it was like it never happened.could cura be getting funky? hmmm.
-
@htrabbit when it happens again, please send the following commands, without parameters;
M92
M350
M221Then check that the M92 and M350 values reported for the extruder are the same values that you configured in config.g and that M221 still reports the extrusion factor as 100%.
If you power off/on and reprint the same file, does the problem recur at exactly the same place in the print?
-
Can you send M98 P"config.g" and see if there are any errors?
Does it still happen with logging turned off?
-
@dc42 if i reprint it does not happen in the same spot , if at all.
i will check what you asked when it happens again. thanx
i will report back here. -
@phaedrux the heater 0 line is weird, and i dont use logging....i think
M98 P"config.g" HTTP is enabled on port 80 FTP is enabled on port 21 TELNET is enabled on port 23 Error: Invalid use of P parameter Warning: Heater 0 appears to be over-powered. If left on at full power, its temperature is predicted to reach 365C
Here is my config.g

@htrabbit said in Extruder slows to a crawl:
2021-05-10 18:34:40 Warning: motor phase A may be disconnected reported by driver(s) 7 2021-05-10 18:34:40 Warning: motor phase B may be disconnected reported by driver(s) 7
Seems like a wiring issue maybe?
-
@htrabbit you have 4 extruders configured, on drivers 3, 4, 6 and 7. Which extruder is failing? Is it the one connected to driver 7, which is reporting the phase errors?
-
-
@htrabbit don't unplug the stepper while it's powered. You'll damage the driver.
