Errors M409 and Warning: Commands is not supported
-
Good morning everyone,
I am getting errors in PanelDue when printing. These errors do not appear in WebControl.
I have tested them in the following way:
Duet2Wifi + Duex5 RRF3.3 DWC3.3
On the PanelDue5i I tested the following firmwares
PanelDue R3.3 RC4
PanelDue R3.3 RC3
PanelDue R3.2.11In all cases the errors and warnings were displayed.
On the other hand I tried printing with the 4-wire cable and the 10-wire cable.
Both cables are very long about 1,8m, however some machines do not show this error with the same cable length.
On the other hand I have tried to print from the SD card and from the internal card of the duet, in both cases the errors are displayed.
To print from the external SD card I use an external card holder connected to CONN_SD, because with such a long cable the data did not arrive well, leaving the PanelDue connected with the 4-wire cables.
I have tried to print only with the 4-wire cables, without anything else connected.I don't know what more tests to do, what can these errors be due to?
I think that the long cable could be the problem, but I have no other choice, could I put some kind of filter?
If it's not the cable, since it doesn't happen on some machines, what could it be due to?Thanks in advance
Best regards -
Can you measure the resistance of each cable in your 4 wire cable?

@Aitor does the PanelDue cable run close to any stepper motor cables?

Good morning @PHAEDRUX and @dc42,
I have measured the wires and they give me 0.126 ohm, these have a splice, so I will try to make a whole cable and that does not exceed 0.1ohm as it says in the documentation.
On the other hand, this cable only passes near a cable connected to fan2, for a led strip, but I had already tried disconnecting it and moving it away from any cable, in case interference was transmitted.
I will try with a cable with less resistance and I will let you know if it has been solved.
Thanks

Good morning @PHAEDRUX and @dc42,
I've done more tests and I'm still getting errors, but I have the feeling that less than before.
One of the tests I have done with a whole cable of 0.089 ohm, this one has given me errors despite having it outside the machine.
I have also tried to change the URXD0 and UTXD0 cables for thinner telephone cables (not shielded) that have 0.085 ohm, this is when I have had the feeling that the errors decreased, but I am not sure.
I have ordered by Internet, cable of 4 telephone wires with these characteristics:
Type of shielding Al/PET
Outer sheath material PVC
Core Strands 1/0.51 mm
American Wire Gauge AWG 24 AWGCan I use it to power PanelDue5i? What is the power consumption of PanelDue?
When it arrives I will test it and let you know, if you can think of any test I can do or any recommendation, I will be happy to do it for you.
Best regards and thanks
NOTE: I'm sorry, my English is null and I think it is not expressed as I would like, I hope you understand what I write.

Good morning @PHAEDRUX and @dc42 ,
I got the cable last week, and I haven't seen the errors on the screen again.
Anyway, I don't know if it was the cable that solved the error, as a resistance cable (heater E0) had broken and was making contact with the structure, so I think the interference could be due to this.
Best regards and thanks for your help

Hey @Aitor , thanks for reporting back. It sounds very likely that it was related to the cable. Especially when it happens sporadicaly.
