When using the </> tag you should see:

          • a row of three ` characters
          • a row with just the word undefined
          • a row of three ` characters

Paste the code over the word undefined being sure to not disturb the rows of ` characters.

Could you go back and edit your post with the files? You didn't get the use of the </> tag correct.

Is 4000 for sure correct for your Z axis steps per mm?

M420 isn't a valid gcode in reprapfirmware. And M500 isn't doing what you think there and should be removed. This looks like marlin specific gcodes not applicable on a Duet.

@phaedrux ok great thank you i have the Cura fixed but I'm having issues with my z steps like u said. my problem is I have a longer lk1 lead screw that's 8mm and I cant find any info on it so I'm quite sure its wrong. an ideas were I could start to calculate them correctly or how to identify my lead screw?

Well if you have absolutely no idea what your lead screw is you can just tell it to move a small amount that you can measure and see how much it differs. Then do the math to see how much you're off. Similar to how with extruder is calibrated. You tell it to move 100mm and then measure how much it actually moved and then adjust the steps as needed.

Ok that was my thought as well. I'm in the process of going dual z leads so I'm just waiting on new leads then I will know for sure. I don't need to change any settings for dual z correct? just wire in place of z jumpers and good to go from my understanding? or am I'm I mistaken? and thanks for taking time to answer all my questions

Yes you can use the dual output Z driver to run the two z motors together without any other configuration.

If you have a spare driver free you could use a separate driver for the second motor and then use it for auto leveling.
