Anyone using the Creality CR touch V3? Having trouble with mine
-
Hi
Is anyone familiar with the wiring for the Creality CR touch?
I have one but can’t seem to get it working. Creality in all their wisdom seem to have omitted any kind of documentation explaining what pin is what. Originally I followed the wiring instructions here https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/Ender+3+Pro+and+Duet+3+Mini+5++Guide+Part+1:+Wiring/87
However Creality use a different order for the wires so this turned out to be totally wrong ️
Then I found these instructions and tried them instead
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connecting_a_Z_probe
Unfortunately I think the colours referenced here apply to the original BL-Touch that can be purchased through Creality rather than their own CR-Touch.
I did try popping the cover from the CR touch but it has no markings on the circuit board to denote which pin does what.
Not sure if I killed the probe by wiring it up wrong or if it is still wired up wrong. Either way I cannot get it to work with the duet.
I assumed that the pins would be in the same order on both CR and BL touch units. Obviously the CR would be mirrored as the wire connects to the unit the other way round to the BL
I am using a CR10 S5 printer with duel Z axis, the probe is plugged into the 3rd end stop port on the duet and the config is written per instructions in the first link.
Thanks

I guess all I need to know is. If you had a BL-Touch and unplugged it and plugged a CR-Touch into the same cable would it work? In that case I can work backwards and probably figure it out.
Guessing that if I have it wired up correctly I just need to send a M401 command and the probe tip should pop out and if I issue M402 it goes back in again

Only Creality will be able to answer that.

@oliof Someone might well have used both.
Creality are absolutely useless as far as any documentation goes, that’s why their printers are so cheap, copy someone else’s idea, sell it cheap and offer no support

Even if someone found a way to do it there's no guarantee they didn't change random stuff between their revision and yours.

Since it's a creality kit, it must work with their own boards. Do they tell you how to connect it up to that? At least then you could identify which wires go to which pins on their boards, and you could find the equivalent duet pins. Unless they're doing something completely crazy.

I have no experience with this, but I found someone showing some kind of BLtouch and CR10 wiring diagram.
It might not help at all, but I thought I'd like to it anyway.
