    I haven't found any post reporting this issue on the Beta6; hopefully I'm not making a duplicate if that's the case, please, point me to the other thread.

    I discovered this issue today; I did a few prints before with no problem.

    I start the print, the skirt and the few first wall lines for the holes are fine but it as soon as it starts to print the wall lines for the part itself the effector starts to move up (Z+) and on back (Y+).

    On the screenshot below the issue only start when printing the line around the red arrows.

    I rolled back the firmware to 3.3 and it prints perfectly.

      @fred-y thanks for the report. I assume when switching back and forward from 3.3 to 3.4b6 you are keeping the config files the same and using the same gcode file to test with?

        @fred-y your print is printing OK on my delta, running 3.4.0beta6+2. There were no changes to the motion system code between beta6 and beta6+2.

        Please try switching to 3.4.0beta6 and (if necessary) back once more, to check whether the issue was related to the firmware upgrade.

          @t3p3tony I only changed the version of the firmware, everything else reminded the same (config.g, gcode printed, wiring...)

          @dc42 I will try to different firmware and report back.
          Where can I find 3.4.0beta6+2?

            @dc42 I changed the firmware back and forward many time and also tried different 3.4 beta versions, there the results:

            3.3 -> ok
            3.4.0beta3 -> ok
            3.4.0beta4 -> fail
            3.4.0beta5 -> fail
            3.4.0beta6 -> fail

            Disabling Input Shaping on beta6 doesn't change anything.

            Let me know if there are additional tests you would like me to do.

              @fred-y thanks for that info. After the error has appeared, when you next run M122 (without rebooting), are there any step errors shown in the Move diagnostics? The M122 report you posted originally didn't show any, but I don't know when you ran that. Note, after running M122 the step error count is cleared AFAIR.

                Shutdown the printer, power it back, ran M122 for reference

                  @fred-y can you post your config?

                    @jay_s_uk I was wondering about that number!

                    My config is at the bottom of the original post, it's a Predator with a Duet 2 wifi, Smart Effector, Magball and .9 steppers.

                      @fred-y nothing out of the ordinary in your config that I can see that would explain those hiccups

                        @jay_s_uk Thanks for checking it!

                        I'm finding odd that the issue only start to happen when the long walls are getting printed, the skirt and round walls looks to be properly printed at the correct height.

                        Everything before the red arrows are ok - I forgot to post this screenshot on my initial post.

                          @fred-y you had a high hiccup count in both M122s you posted so which could be an indication of a cause of the problem. I assume you are printing the skirt at a different speed than the perimeter of the first layer where you see the issue? as a test can you set the first layer to the same speed as the skirt, or vice versa?

                            @t3p3tony By looking at the gcode and also the gcode preview, the skirt and perimeters appear to be at the same speed 20mm/s (F1200).
                            a23d16cb-eb94-44d6-bdd5-e38b13ad378d-image.png

                            Only the solid infill is at 30mm/s.

                            Is there a way to log when (line #) the hiccups happen?

                              Just wanted to check if there is any updates here, I did get another file had the same issue but this time immediately when the print start.
                              On the first gcode file it was after having printed the skirt and a few small features but still on the first layer.

                                What if you reduce microstepping? (from 16 to 8). Isn't the hiccup count an indication of too many step pulses?

                                    @fred-y thanks for the additional example. Can you post a photo or video of what happens when you print that one? EDIT: looks like I may not need that.

                                      @fred-y I have found and fixed the bug that was causing this. The fix will be in 3.4.0beta7. The hiccups were the clue.

                                        @dc42 Thank you for the update, I started to be concerned that my board might be defective as I was the only one reporting this issue - I was close to test one from another printer or just buy another one.

                                        Let me know if you have a pre-beta version you want to be validated, I can do it fairly quickly.
