I have a Caribou Duet and i have problems with the first layer.
If i turn on the printer and start printing, the first layer is to high from the bed.
The print is canceld and i start the print again.
The second print is the first layer spot on.......perfect first layer. Al the prints that day perfect.

I have don several times a first layer calibration and saved the babysteps but the problem is still here.

First print to high...... second print spot on.

@mike3d are you homing the printer and then heating the hot end and bed, or the other way round? If you are homing first then it could be that thermal expansion is changing the Z=0 point. If so then I suggest you do a single G30 probe at bed centre after heating, to re-establish the Z=0 point.

@dc42 The hot-end and bed are heating up before homing. (160-60)
The second step is making the height map.
Then the printer is homing and is waiting for the hot-end to heat up (215).
The build plate is already on the good temp. Is the Pinda 2 the source of the troubles ?
I think it is a software problem........ If i wait between the first and second print, the hot end and bed are cold.

Share your config.g, homeall.g bed.g homez.g start.g and a sliced gcode files so that we can see what is actually happening when a print is started. Firmware version can be helpful too.

Is that the one with the temperature compensation? Have you got that configured if so?

                  M703 ; execute loaded filament's config.g

It looks like you're using filament specific configs. Are you changing anything relevant there?

Do you have anything relevant here? M98 P"0:/sys/primeLine.g" ; execute primeline macro
