      Hello guys!
      I have a RatRig V-Core 3.
In the middle of a print the rear z motor stopped working and the bed only moved down at the front.
      This happened before one time.
The first hour was completely fine.
When I restard the printer without doing anything the motor works again normally.
      What could cause this problem?
I have the Duet 3 Mini 5 board with extension board.

      Room temp: Around 22°C
      Board temp: Around 43°C
No messages or errors in the console
I have no fans on the board right now to cool it down. I will do it in the future, just dont have designed a good mounting for the fans.

But can this temperature be already too high for the drivers? But why always the one z axis motor 😅

      Thanks in advance! 🙂

If the drivers were actually getting too hot you'd get a warning message.

It sounds like the rear motor is experiencing some binding and perhaps the motor is stalling.

You'd have to share a lot more specific information to get a better guess.

@phaedrux Thank you for your answer.
          What information do you need?

But doesn't it speak against blocking that I simply switch the printer off and on again briefly in the web interface and directly everything works again without problems?

Share your config.g and homing files. Share the gcode file in question.
Share the results of sending M122 and M98 P"config.g" in the gcode console.
Share the specs of the motors.

@phaedrux I have one driver free and used it for the rear z motor.
Since then everything is working fine.
I will come back to this thread if the motor stops again but for now I think it is fine 🙂

              Thank you!

if you're running the LDO 2504s (current standard steppers on RatRig machines if I'm not mistaken) you should probably adjust the current to 1100mA in config.g -- at which point active board cooling should be seriously considered.

@oliof yes the machine has the M2504 stepper motors. I have 1000mA for the z motors and since I changed the driver everything works well 🙂
