E3D Micro Revo with Duet2 and Smart Effector
-
I recently upgraded my Anycubic Predator with a Duet2 and a Smart effector and I am extremely impressed by both the ease of installation and the configuration. Great job guys!
Now to my question, how well does the E3D's Micro Revo work with the Smart Effector, I am currently using it with a volcano hotend with great success and I have a second Smart Effector which I originally planned to use with a regular V6 hotend but the Micro Revo seems like a better "Second hotend".Is it possible to save PID tuning parameters and quickly switch between different parameters depending on which hotend I use?

@haddoq the micro fits fine.
Maybe best to run 2 different configs using M505 -
The M505 sounds amazing!
This is now a good reason to buy additional Smart Effectors and some MagballsAnd I confirm, the Revo micro is an excellent hotend for the smart effector, just be careful the tiny fan is 5v!
I would be nice to have a 5v output on the next iteration of the smart effector. -
@fred-y at least the included buck converter for the fan is small

@jay_s_uk just fitted a revo micro to smart effector with orbiter 2 direct drive. Excellent so far - temperature control very good after pid, and that little 5v fan is surprisingly quiet. One thing to watch - needed a bit of gentle sanding in the effector centre hole for the cold end to seat exactly square.

@jay_s_uk True but it just a little annoying to add extra wires/stuff - I like the smart effector or the toolboards because it helps to have a clean setup.
I searched a 12v or 24v version of these fans but I have not found any. -

I searched a 12v or 24v version of these fans but I have not found any.I found two 12V fans the same size, but when I tested them neither gave the same flow rate as the 5V one. So I ended up using the 5V converter that was supplied.
