I bought a Duet 3 Mini 5+ directly from RepRap a while back, and tested it successfully, had no problem accessing the web interface. Now for some reason, it's reporting issues with the SD card.

M122 shows the card still detects, inspecting the card with a PC shows the SD card perfectly fine.
The speed reported is "0.2MBytes/sec", which according to https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/SD_Card#Section_Troubleshooting_SD_Card_issues might indicate an issue with the SDcard slot, or the processor. M21 somewhat expectedly fails to remount.

Is there any further diagnosing I could do? The warranty period has since run out. Is buying a replacement my only reasonable option?

First time on this forum, thanks in advance!

        Hi,

For what it's worth, unless the SD card supplied is a brand I know and trust, I always remove the card and copy the contents to my PC for posterity.

I then replace the SD card with a brand I know after loading the card with my basic "starter" configuration.

I formatted and populated the card myself, worked perfectly fine for months before. SD card still reads fine on PC, made a backup just in case, but even changing the partitions on there a little made no difference for the Duet.

I vaguely (very vaguely) recall posts regarding the SD card "socket" on the Duet and intermittent connections.

Perhaps you can find related posts.

@passivedragon have a look a the soldering on the SD cards socket, and compare with https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/RepRapFirmware/SD_card#sd-card-socket

If out of warranty (what was the date of purchase, and who from?) you might consider getting the SD socket reworked/resoldered to get better contact. Also try cleaning the contacts internally with electrical cleaner. The SD card socket is a Würth Elektronik 693071020811 if you want to try replacing it.

If all else fails, we usually have a some stock of refurbished boards that we can offer customers at reduced cost.

I bought it from RepRapWorld pretty much exactly a year ago, but I only actually installed it for the first time last week. The week before it still worked perfectly fine as I tested it.
I can't tell if there are any issues with the contacts, they seem to be looking fine to me at first glance.

I have seen posts mentioning some wiggle room with the SD card, I have noticed that with mine as well, but with no change apparent.
I'll try getting those contacts cleaned and see if that helps.

                Thank you for your response!

What was the exact date of purchase from RepRapWorld?

                    Order date was 06/26/2021

How would I get access to buy a refurbished board?

We will honor that as within the year.
