      Hi duet fam,

Been looking into the Odrive to control a brushless fan in a custom set up. I have searched here on the forum for information. It either seems to be old or very scattered. looking for firmware config info.

If anyone has a link to a well circulated post regarding this matter it would be greatly appreciated. I plan on using a duet3 board, and it will be intended to control back flow of the extrusion in tandem with a typical stepper motor control.

@pmpetros So you want to control the speed of a brushless DC fan which is attached to an odrive from odriveroborics.com?

Which one are you going to be using?

@alankilian yes, the specific one has yet to be determined. (based on if it is even possible). but lets say D5065 270KV, the dual shaft motor. I'm looking for torque more than speed.

@pmpetros OK, when you say you're more interested in torque than speed, that sends up some flags for me that maybe we should talk a little more about what you're trying to do before you spend any money.

Originally, you said you were trying to run a fan which is pretty easy, but now you mention torque and referred to a VERY powerful motor which would run a fan the size of a house no problem, so I'm wondering if you're trying to do something different from just spinning a fan at a particular speed.

Can you describe in more detail what you're trying to do and maybe I and others can help you select hardware and a way to control it from a Duet board?
