Did I brick my 5" Paneldue?

My PanelDue was working on version 1.1.7
I updated to version 3.4.4 board firmware
I updated to version 1.27 ServerI ran the update in DWC on PanelDueFirmware -3.4.1- 7.0i.bin
I watched all of the unpacking and installing messages.
Got a message saying the update was successfulPower cycled the printer
PanelDue lit up and when I checked the Setup tab on the PanelDue. it said it was still version 1.1.7
I connected a USB cable directly to the PanelDue, loaded Bossa, pointed it to the 3.4.1-7.09i.bin file, forgot to click the Lock box, pressed the erase button on the PanelDue and told Bossa to write the file.
I now have a dark PanelDue and I can't seem to make it light up, no matter what I do. My PanelDue is a 5", not a 7" and I can't talk to it apparently. Bossa no longer sees the port or the board and it is not available in USB com ports any more.
Did I brick the display, or can it be recovered?

Did you use the erase button to clear the firmware?
It's pretty hard to brick it, so try the USB firmware update steps again.

@Phaedrux Hi. Port that my PanelDue was connected to is showing faint in Ports in Device Manager. That means it's not available. In the properties it says to reconnect the hardware
It doesn't matter how many times I attach the USB cable to the PanelDue, it remains inactive. That was the port that Brossa would connect on, so I am not able to connect the software to the board.

Did you read the link I posted?
Connect the PanelDue to the host computer
Power off the Duet, and disconnect the PanelDue from the Duet, both the ribbon cable and 4-wire interface cable, otherwise the Duet will receive power when USB power is applied to the PanelDue. If the back of the PanelDue is inaccessible, disconnect it at the Duet end, but check that the free end of the 4-wire interface cable cannot short against anything.
Use a suitable cable to connect the micro USB connector on the PanelDue controller to a USB port on your PC. Caution! With version 1.0 and 1.1 PanelDue boards, take care not to exert too much sideways or up/down force on the USB connector, or you may pull the USB connector off the board. If the board has already been programmed then the backlight should illuminate.
Erase firmware
Press and hold the Erase button of the PanelDue for at least one second. You can access this button by pressing the end of a straightened-out paper clip through the hole in the enclosure.
Release the Erase button, then press and release the Reset button. If you have a version 2.0 board then the backlight will turn off. -
@Phaedrux I'm not sure the backlight came on. I did get the sounds of a USB connecting. I also got the sound for the reset. It is possible that at one point I flipped the four pin cable over, so maybe I fried the board. I have never had a ribbon cable connected.

@Phaedrux connected fine with Brossa to the paneldue. It wrote 668 pages and said it was successful.
I have replaced the 4 pin cable between the boards and actually connected it to the panel due port this time, and it is still dark. I'll try later tonight when I have a better chance if seeing if the backlight is trying -
If the pins were reversed it may have damaged the backlight inverter. If you shine a light onto the screen can you see if anything is actually being displayed?
Now that it has firmware on it, it would probably be starting with a touch calibration. Does it make a beep if you touch the display?

Wow, you always have the best questions
I can shine a light on the display and see absolutely nothing. I really think it is smoked (although none leaked out and there are no signs of burning).
Pressing on the screen did not produce any response either in audio or visual.
The truth is I don't really need the screen to print or do anything else now that DWC is working.
I've got the endstops working and the motions going in the right directions.
I have a BLTouch that I would like to put on it, but in reading ahead on the install, I'm not sure I am that brave.

@TimV-0 is it a 5" integrated PanelDue, or a non-integrated one? If it is non-integrated, what PCB version is it?
If it's an integrated one then you can check whether the backlight inverter is working by measuring the voltage across the capacitor labelled C3 near the top right hand corner (looking at the back) of the PCB. It should be about 17V. Note, it can be difficult to get a good connection to SMD components when using a multimeter, because of oxidation on the surface of the lead-free solder.
