      Hello,

i have some problems with the correct wiring of my 1LC to the duet 6 HC

I am using an RJ11 Cable with 2 wires on pin 4 and 5 . It looks like this

      no wire
      no wire
      no wire
green wire --- connected to black wire ( pin 3) on the 1LC
grenn white wire connected to red wire ( pin 4) on the 1LC
      no wire
      no wire
      no wire

The solder jumper for the resistor is already briged.

with this setting, the red led on the 1lc is blinking fast and an red led on the 6HC is blinking slowly.

Do i have the correct setting ?

      Best regards

      Chris

@fragle the LED on the toolboard should flash at the same rate and insync with the mainboard.
CAN_H on the toolboard should connect to CAN_H on the mainboard and the same with CAN_L

Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

@fragle I assume you are using the same PSU to power both boards (if not then the grounds of the PSUs must be connected).

Most likely either you have a bad connection, or you have CAN_H and CAN_L swapped between the boards. Try swapping the two wires over, it won't damage anything if they are the wrong way round.

            @dc42

i have checked the wiring, seems to be ok, maybe my cable is a little bit too long ?

i ve checked all possibies the Can_H and Can_L is correctly wired ( checked with a multimeter)

I will try to get another cable.

I ve tried everything, other cable, switching the 2 Can bus cables...

I have nothing found what to do with the 2 free red /black wires . Should i connect thin, even i have soldered the soldering terminaton plate on the board ?

I have only Cables with 2 wires, maybe that is the problem ?

They don't need to be connected, just make sure they are not shorting to each other or to anything else.

No, two wires is all you need when the board is the last one in the CAN bus and you have enabled the termination jumper.

If you definitely have CAN_H connected to CAN_H and CAN_L connected to CAN_L, and a common ground wire between the VIN terminals of both boards (e.g. because they are powered from the same PSU), then it sounds to me that the CAN transceiver isn't working on one of the boards, most likely the one on the tool board.

@dc42 with "Jumper" you mean the soldering pad on the lc1 ?

Ist there an point in the 6hc where i can use as measure point for the can Bus ?

Can i measure if the soldering pad is connected correctly ?

My cable ist an german ADSL cable with an rj45 jack and 2 wires on Pin 4 and 5.

@fragle soldering the termination resistor isn't critical, the CAN bus will work without it unless the cables are very long.

Which version tool board do you have?

Please post a photo of the solder bridge you have made.

Did you really mean a RJ11 or RJ12 jack, using pins 3 and 4? The CAN connector on the 6HC has only 6 positions, not 8. Or did you connect it to the Ethernet jack instead of the CAN jack?

                      @dc42

I am such an stupid cattle..... I ve found the reason. it was in front off the printer...

With my first cable rj11 cable i used the can bus connector, after remounting the 6 HC i turned the direction and now i used the ethernet port.

It is normal , that this won´t work... Shame to me....

I have checked everthing twice, but not the correct port !
