      I would like to have THE SAME FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VFD SPINDLE WITH A STEPPING MOTOR (NEMA) HOW SHOULD I CONFIGURE DUET 2 WIFI ?UPDATE TO NEMA.jpg

        @paolozampini1973 short answer is you can't.

        Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

          why is it not possible on the lathe is it possible instead for milling is it not possible ?

            @paolozampini1973 Because the torque over speed relationship for stepper make them not really suitable for such application.

              @paolozampini1973 what @Falcounet said. And the firmware doesn't support continuous rotational axis. And you can't move an axis that isn't in sync with others

                Isn't there a way to define the stepper-spindle as extruder? That way it's in sync with motion system and has infinite rotation
                Don't ask me how to configure e-steps etc. , but I read it in a remark from @dc42 lately

                But as mentioned before: it's not the same as a spindle, but it should work for thread cutting and positional drilling
