      Hi,
I have purchased a Duet 3 Main Board 6XD for a Yamaha YM84 Pick and Place machine conversion to OpenPnP.

I can't find a feedhold and Emergency Halt input on the board pinouts. Am I missing something or do these boards not cater for such safety features?

      Cheers,

      Peter

@phomann emergency halt can be done with any IO. Use M581
I believe feedhold is due to be implemented in 3.5

Look at this thread, which provides almost everything you need for an external Pause/Resume option. This has the same effect as the "feedhold"option I had on my (now redundant) Shapeoko 3.

As far as a E-Stop is concerned, and if that's what you really want, something like this would work - but bear in mind it needs to be installed before both the milling motor/spindle and the Duet board's PSU, as you'll need to stop them both in an emergency (also, an NVR switch won't allow the machine to restart if power is restored, unless don't press the Go button).

Note: I would never advocate running a CNC machine, particularly a hobby machine, unattended.

EDIT: Having just looked up "pick and place machinery" on the mighty Google, my comments may have been rather simplistic. Sorry!

Thanks for the quick replies, they are very helpful. I'll have a look at M581 and also the thread on scripting.
Also when does 3.5 become available?
            Cheers,

            Peter

@phomann the first beta of 3.5b1 has just come out. I expect it to be a while before 3.5 goes stable
