Hi I have a duet wifi that was previously running a outdated firmware that I update to a newer version.
Since the new update, I can t no more raise the temperature of my heated chamber more than 40deg C. Before new firmware, it was easilly going to 65deg C and more. The heated chamber is set in bang bang with a 110v 300w ptc heater plug on a relay that is control from the heater number 2. I was able to mesure 115v@60hz. I try to run a pid autotune as recomended and it allways fail. Now, I out of idea on what to do and I don t want to run the old firmwarw again.

Do you have some idea on what to do?

Thank You All and merry Christmas

Which firmware were you using? which did you update to? Have you tried PID tuning the heater yet?

Just out of curiosity, did you verify that your heater turns on? It would not be unusual for a chamber to reach 40C just from the build plare heat ...... Maybe stick a light bulb in parallel to the heater to see if/when it comes on.
I see you say you tested it and got 115V but did you feel the heater or better yet measure the temperature of the heater with an IR gun? Maybe the heater failed coincidentally with the upgrade?

@jens55 the heater is working. It reach 40deg temperature only with this heater and no help from the built plate

Small update to this post. I was previously using 500w heater with the old version firmware and was easily heating my chamber . Since the new firmware, it was not able to heat the chamber higher than 40 deg C. I try to do a auto tune pid of the chamber and it allways fail to finish the auto tune. The heated chamber is set in bang bang configuration. The heater is working on 110v so the duet control arelay 24v to 110v from the second heater from the duet card. So at some point, I decided to update my heater to 700w heater and I put bigger fan to have more airflow. Final result, I was able to heat up to 40deg C than fail. Now I don t know what to try. I don t belive a 1000w heater will be my solution because it was working fast with the 500w before the firmware update. It should just be faster now with the 700w and bigger fan

@daoust See here for the note on increasing dead time. This may help the auto tune complete.

@Phaedrux thank you very much but I allready try that option also. I wish for any other way to force a setting without the need of PID autotune🄲
