Connecting a LED strip to Duet 0.6
-
Hi all.
I have an Ormerod 2 printer with Duet 0.6 motherboard.
I would like to put a LED strip on the X axis and connect it to the motherboard, but I have no knowledge if that is even possible, and if it is - where could I connect it to.I have the same strip on my O1 but that one has a PSU power unit and the strip is connected to one if its outputs.
The strip in question is this one.
Any help is appreciated.

@Sardi what voltage and current is that LED strip?

@T3P3Tony Ive ordered this a long time ago, so Im presuming its a 12V cause I tried to plug it in the 5V output on the board but it didnt go on.

@Sardi any marking on the strip? if you are not sure then i would use an external power supply, preferably current limited, to check it before plugging it into the board.

@T3P3Tony first thing I did was check the strip
I just found the order, they are 12V 100%. I thought I bought them via Ali, turns out I bought them via Amazon

@Sardi ok so if the strip is 12V, what power supply are you using on the printer?

@T3P3Tony
Its this one Meanwell SP-200-12 PSU -
@Sardi ok so you can hook that strip directly to the power supply if you want the LEDs on when ever the printer is on (simplest), assuming the power supply has the spare current to run the strip as well as the printer.
