We're just trying to upgrade our simple out of filament sensor to something more advanced and obviously first looked at the duet option.
As we are using RepetierServer for printing it's not a print from SD card and from my initial test and the documentation kind of sounds like it's simply not possible even though the A1 option in the M591 command kind of sounds like it could be possible.

On my first try it worked when printing from SD but not from externally.
Can someone please clarify if it's possible or in case if it's possible to change that behavior for a future release?
All we need is filament-error.g to be called and we can take it from there.

@benecito no idea. it wasn't in the github issues log either so i've just created one for it. https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/issues/862

jaysuk created this issue in Duet3D/RepRapFirmware

@jay_s_uk fair enough and thanks - please also make sure it does not only work on USB as we are using the DSF socket in SBC mode for communication.
