Duet 2 WiFi ZeroG Mercury One.1
-
Out of interest has anyone tried a duet board with this build? Thinking of upgrading my Ender 5. I see that the build is shown as using Klipper. I know it shouldn't make a difference. It looks like a neat project. If anyone has built it I would appreciate any feedback before I commit.

@Oscar Interesting! I have a TronXY X5S that sorely needs an upgrade; the frame parts are the only parts worth keeping! I was looking at the VzBoT, but wanted a kinematic bed too, so this looks tempting with the Hydra add-on.
This seems a relatively balanced look at it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO6vwgFCe2I

@Oscar To run this on a Duet 2, especially if you run the Hydra Kinematic bed, you're going to need at least one extra driver. Duet 2 has 5 stepper drivers, but you need 6: one each for X and Y, three for Z and one for the extruder. Either add a Duex, or you can add a single board relatively easily; see https://docs.duet3d.com/en/User_manual/Connecting_hardware/Motors_connecting_external

@droftarts That video has more or less sold the Mercury One.1 upgrade, I have a Titan aero on the tool head which they cater for, and the rest shouldn't be that more to purchase, the linear rails being the biggest expense.
-
@droftarts in which case, a Duet 3 Mini + Duet 3 Mini +2 addon would be more appropriate than a Duet 2.

@dc42 or a toolboard

I shall look into it and maybe post some updates if I go ahead

@Oscar did you do the conversion? I'm just printing all parts to start it. I think the duet wifi is more than appropriate to run the CoreXY config.
Could be some challenge to set it up though as I have to go through all the config again.
